PRESS RELEASE — Wednesday, May 9, 2018, the Newton County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call about a man under his truck. The caller advised that the man was deceased.

The Sheriff’s Office dispatched Deweyville First Responders, the Fire Department

as well as Deputies.

Upon arrival it was established the man under the truck was deceased. It appeared the man was working on his vehicle when it fell off the ramps supporting the vehicle.

The deceased man has been identified as Oscar Almendarez, 63 of Deweyville, Texas.

Inquest was held by Justice of the Peace, Dana Ashmore Pct 4 Newton County
