Man arrested for possession of a controlled substance related to Sunday shooting

PRESS RELEASE — On Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 at 5:40 p.m., the Orange County Special Services Division along with the City of Orange Major Crimes Division secured a warrant for the arrest of Randy L. Wasnak for possession of a controlled substance related to the shooting that occurred on May 22nd, 2016 at 3575 East Railroad, Vidor, Orange County, Texas.

When Investigators arrived, they located Wasnak in the yard of the residence.  A search of the residence was conducted by investigators.  During the search of the residence approximately 13 grams of methamphetamine was located along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Wasnak was arrested on the felony warrant and transported to the Orange County Jail where he was also charged with the additional amount of methamphetamine.

The original warrant for possession had a bond of $50,000. Wasnak was arraigned this morning by Precinct 2 Judge Dunn and bond was set at $50,000 for the additional charge of possession.

Regarding the investigation of the shooting, the victim remains uncooperative with Investigators about the facts of the case and the events that led to her injuries.
