Pinehurst volunteer firefighters spent two weekends during the past year asking residents to help “Fill the Boot.”
Motorists would toss kin some change or a few dollars to help out the voluntary fire department.
Persistence and patience paid off for both the department and the local citizens as the group raised enough funds to expand their walls to enlarge its classroom size.
“Pinehurst Fire did two fill-a-boots within the past year for building materials,” Crystal, with the fire department, said. “Due to the growth of the department, our classroom became too small. With that said, we had to make the decision of building a larger room.”
Pinehurst Volunteer Fire Department said it could not have happened without the generosity of the residents.
“Thanks to all those who donated and made this project happen,” Crystal said.
