Bobcats nail down big wins Friday at Anderson-Shiro tourney

The Orangefield Bobcats snared a pair of wins at the Anderson-Shiro Tournament Friday, defeating Rockdale 12-4 and Anderson-Shiro 7-1.
Despite allowing three runs in the second inning, the Bobcats defeated Rockdale 12-4 on Friday. Rockdale’s big inning was driven by singles by Towns and Vincent Flores and a walk by Jackson Perry.
The Bobcats secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the first inning. Brett Fregia, Ryan Deutsch, Blake Bradley, Gunner Jones, Johnny Armstrong, and Kadeon Evans powered the big inning with RBIs.
The Bobcats got on the board in the first inning when Fregia singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Evans got the win for Bobcats. He went three and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits.
The Bobcats had ten hits in the game. Evans and Armstrong each had multiple hits for Bobcats. Evans led Bobcats with three hits in three at bats.
The Bobcats defeated Anderson-Shiro 7-1 on Friday thanks to five runs in the fifth inning. Ryan Deutsch, Brett Fregia, and Johnny Armstrong each had RBIs in the big inning.
The Bobcats notched five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Armstrong, an error on a ball put in play by Deutsch, and a double by Fregia.
Mason Gonzales was the winning pitcher for Bobcats. He went four innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out seven. Armstrong threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Gunner Jones, Fregia, Kadeon Evans, Jacob Harvey, and Kent Michael each managed one hit to lead Bobcats. Bobcats didn’t commit a single error in the field.
The Bobcats are now 5-1-1 and will finish the tournament with Jewett Leon Saturday at 11:00.
