In the months following the devastation of Harvey, The Ochs Family Toys for Tots Campaign held their annual toy distribution on Saturday Dec. 16 at Life Church in Orange, which provided new toys to children living in Orange and Jefferson Counties.
Because of the significant support from the individuals and businesses throughout the communities, The Ochs Family Toys for Tots campaign was able to share the joy of opening a new toy at Christmas to over 2,000 children. Children currently in foster care also received new toys for Christmas from the local campaign.
Despite the devastating damage of Harvey, the following businesses, organizations and individuals generously donated to help provide the needy children throughout the two counties with new toys: Toys R Us, The Orange Leader, Build a Bear, Beaumont Radio Control Club, KITU TV, M&D Supply, United Built Homes, Pet Smart, Pepsi Co, HHSC, 70X7 Band, Judge Dunn, Burkes Outlet, The Akhtar Family, JCP, Edward Jones, SETEX Disc Golf Club, Sprint Store, Brock at Exxon Port Arthur, Terri Cantano in memory of her brother, Margaret Boehme, Cecil Toyota, OCI Beaumont, Primoris Construction, Community Church and special Thanks to Life Church in Orange for hosting the annual distribution.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
