The Celebration of Life for The Reverend Andrew B. Martin, Sr.,61, Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church of Newton, TX will be Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Orange.
Rites of Christian Burial will follow in Magnolia Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
He died October 20, 2017 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX.
A native and lifelong resident of Orange, he retired from the E.I. DuPont Sabine River Works Plant after 40 years of service.
The Reverend Martin has served as the Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church for some 25 years.
He was a member of and held offices in many religious organizations including the National Baptist Convention, B.M.E. State Convention, Sabine Valley District Association, and Lonestar District Association.
Survivors include his wife, Gelonda Martin of Orange, 3 sons, Andrew Martin, Jr. and Nehemiah Martin, both of Orange and Ronald Abram of Las Vegas, NV, 3 daughters Natasha Brown and LeVesel Brown, both of Las Vegas and Felicia Jones of Temple, TX, 4 brothers, Rev. Joseph Roberson, Peter Roberson and Anthony Roberson all of Orange, and Richard Guillory of Austin, TX, 2 sisters, Cynthia Rogers and Linda Dixon, both of Orange, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
