Entry applications for Cajun Christmas parade now available

Kiwanis Club of Orange, Texas presents the 68th Annual Orange Christmas Parade featuring “Cajun Christmas” scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2.
The parade will start at the MacArthur Drive Shopping Center at 6 p.m. where Steve Jones will preside as the grand marshal.
The lighted parade will include floats, bands, and dance teams from area schools, businesses, and organizations featuring their favorite Cajun tradition, music, and/or theme. Parade entry forms can be downloaded at the Facebook page for the event or can be picked up at the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce.
On the day of the parade, children’s activities including face painting, ornament making, and bounce houses will take place on 7th Street next to City Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m.
Gumbo and pizza will be available for purchase.
All of the girls and boys will also have a chance to take a picture with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas following the parade.
At 8 p.m., the parade award’s ceremony will take place near the judge’s stand in front of City Hall. Following, The City of Orange will host the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at City Hall where Mayor Jimmy Sims will light the Christmas tree, donated by Corporate Sponsor, International Paper.
Completed entry forms must be submitted by Friday, November 25. There is three easy ways to submit your entry form:
