UPDATE:

At 8:17 pm on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, the Vidor Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of a shooting in the 100 Block of Carla Street, Vidor, Texas. Upon arrival, the deputies found the victim being treated by medics from Acadian Ambulance Service. The victim was declared deceased by the medics at the scene. The shooter was detained in the area by deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The Vidor Police Department initiated a death investigation and spoke to several witnesses to the shooting. Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The shooter has been cooperative with the investigators and the investigation is on-going awaiting toxicology and autopsy results. At the current time, there has been no arrest made and the shooter was released. It appears that the incident stems from a family dispute.

A shooting at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday on Carla Street in Vidor has left one person dead.

Vidor Police Department has confirmed one individual is dead and another is in custody as a result of the shooting.
