5K run/walk returns to benefit United Way of Orange County Texas

WEST ORANGE — Get ready to lace up the running shoes for the second 5K Walk/Run to benefit the Orange County United Way.
The professionally timed event will be held 8 a.m. Sat. Oct. 10 starting at Granger Chevrolet with all the proceeds the United Way of Orange County Texas. Major sponsors of the event are Sabine Federal Credit Union and Granger Chevrolet.
The event, professionally timed by The Driven Race Solutions, will follow a route starting at the Service Drive of Granger Chevrolet and make it’s way east on MacArthur Drive, winding through Historic Orange before making it’s way back to Granger Chevrolet.
Awards will be given and age groups will recognize places. A Post Race Celebration will conclude the race at 11 a.m.
Dean Granger, co-owner of Granger Chevrolet, and Keith Brice, service director, are both novice runners.
“We were able to raise $8,600 for the Orange County United Way last year with the event,” Brice said. “This year we are hoping to double the amount.”

“We have more sponsors this year,” Brice said. “We have several local businesses help sponsor the event as well.”
