ORANGE — A Sulfuric acid spill at approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday at an undisclosed location on Inland Road resulted in a man being life-flighted to the hospital.
The man, who’s name has not been released at this time, received severe chemical burns when he was splashed with sulfuric acid when a cup-link was removed from a truck.
“He is alive but badly burned,” Emergency Management Coordinator Ryan Peabody said.
Orange Fire Department responded to the scene and handled the incident according to Peabody.
A company involved with the spill notified Emergency Management of the incident.
“I did notify ESD3 and the state,” Peabody said. “It is a courtesy notification in case it becomes an expanding incident, they are already notified and aware.”
Peabody also said the spill was not substantial and there was no environmental impact as a result.
