JASPER — The Bridge City Cardinals split a pair of games at the Jasper Tournament Thursday.

The Cardinals downed Kirbyville 6-3 and fell to Carthage 6-5.

In the win over Kirbyville Jaxon Luna tossed 4 1/3 innings with three strikeouts while Ryan Ellis tossed 2 1/3 innings.

Peyton Havard, Gavin Green and Cameron Yadon each had two hits. Green and Cace Skinner each had a RBI.

In the loss to Carthage, Hamm went four innings, fanning three while Ellis went 1 2/3 innings.

Havard had two hits while Slade Foreman had a hit. Hamm drove in two runs while Jackson Tims had a RBI.
