PRESS RELEASE – At approximately 10 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10.  The crash occurred near mile marker 857.

Preliminary reports indicate that an Acura passenger vehicle was traveling westbound on the Interstate.  The driver of the Acura began to slow down for traffic when her vehicle was rear-ended by a Dodge Charger.

The driver of the Acura, Jamie Utley, 50, of Vidor, was transported by ambulance to Baptist hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, 18-year-old Mallory Green of Vidor, was not injured in the crash.

Green was issued a traffic citation for failure to control speed.
