Three OC lifters advance to State Power Meet

Three Orange County powerlifters will advance to the Class 4A State Powerlifting Meet after big performances at the Regional Meet at Goose Creek Memorial High School over the weekend.
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School’s Bear Iron was successful this weekend, with two lifters earning spots in the State Meet. Hunter Angelo placed second in the 165-weight class and Ethan McKay took First in the 181-weight class. Both will represent LCM in the state meet. Colt LeBleu finished 4th place in the 220-weight class. The state meet will be held in Abilene on March 24.
The Bridge City Boys’ Powerlifting Team competed on Saturday March 10 and Cardinal Jack Fontenot will advance to the State Meet after he won his weight class. Three guys placed in the top five.
Alex Williams placed 4th in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 725 pounds.
Jake Potter placed 3rd in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 810 pounds.
Brendin Shomo placed 6th in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 1,045 pounds.
Adam Snyder placed 8th in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 1,185 pounds.
Jack Fontenot placed 1st in his weight class by lifting a total weight of 1,425 pounds. Jack will advance to the State Meet which will be held on March 24th in Abilene.
The Mustangs had another good day of competing Saturday at the Boys Regional Powerlifting Meet.
Andre Thomas placed 3rd in the 132 lb weight class with a Squat of 310 lbs, Bench Press of 210 lbs, and a Dead Lift of 350 lbs to finish with a total of 870 lbs.
Clint Williams placed 7th in the 165 lb weight class with a Squat of 405 lbs, Bench Press of 215 lbs, and a Dead Lift of 420 lbs to finish with a total of 1,040 lbs.
Darby Jones placed 6th in the 242 lb weight class with a Squat of 450 lbs, Bench Press of 295 lbs, and a Dead Lift of 530 lbs to finish with a total of 1,275 lbs.
Quincy Ledet placed 7th in the 275 lb weight class with a Squat of 440 lbs, Bench Press of 220 lbs, and a Dead Lift of 480 lbs to finish with a total of 1,140 lbs.
Jordan Garrett placed 6th in the SHW class with a Squat of 480 lbs, Bench Press of 285 lbs, and a Dead Lift of 450 lbs to finish with a total of 1,215 lbs.
