To the Citizens of Newton County:
My name is Kenneth Weeks and I am excited to announce my intention to file as a candidate for Newton County Judge in the 2018 Republican primary election. Now, more than ever, Newton County is in need of a strong, common-sense, conservative leader inside and outside of the courthouse. I want to be that leader for you and all of Newton County.
MY ROOTS: I was born in Wiergate in the North End of Newton County and attended Burkeville I.S.D. My family has been in Newton County since the 1860’s. The Farrs settled in what is now the community of Farrsville, and the Weeks settled in what is now called Weeks Settlement.
MY EXPERIENCE: I believe my years of experience as a small business owner and community leader qualify me to be your next County Judge. I have owned by own business since 1974. I have experience in managing large construction projects; planning, building, and working by a budget; hiring and working with employees; writing and managing contracts; and participating in and managing the bidding process. I have built residential homes and commercial buildings as well as constructed and designed roads. I also have experience in buying and selling real estate.
MY SERVICE: In the past, I have served as the Chairman of the Board of the Burkeville Church of God, the President of the Burkeville Sports Complex; and the President of the Burkeville I.S.D. Board of Trustees. I also previously served as the Chief of the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department and have served as a general community volunteer for years.
MY VISION: It is my desire to become your next County Judge and be a leader who will help Newton County be the very best it can be! I want our county to be a place where everyone is proud to live and work, where we feel safe to raise our families, and where we know our county government is following and upholding the laws of our great state. As County Judge, I will always keep the best interests of the citizens at heart and approach all problems with common sense and compassion—and I will seek to encourage and inspire all other leaders and government officials to do the same.
I would greatly appreciate your vote for County Judge in the upcoming Republican primary election, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
