Vidor home damaged in fire

VIDOR — A home was damaged by fire Dec. 8 in Vidor.
Orange County Emergency Services District No. 1 was dispatched at approximately 2:38 p.m. to the 1600 block of Cheyenne for a posse structure fire.
Rescue 1, Squad 1 and Tanker 3 made the initial response, according to Fire Chief Richard L. Smith.
The crews arrived on scene minutes later to find a single-story wood frame residential structure. Smoke was visible from the eaves and roofline throughout the entire house. No flame extension was visible in any of the house from the exterior.
Firefighters made entry, viability was good with light haze in the interior.
Flames were visible on ne side of the living room and in the ceiling. Firefighters were able to access the attic from a home in the ceiling with the hose line.
The fire was under control at 2:50 p.m.
Approximately 750 gallons of water was used in extinguishment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
