Members of the Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force have recently seen multiple cases of citizens falling victim to “Juggers”— criminals who target people leaving banks with cash.
These thieves watch for individuals carrying bank bags or envelopes and even monitor ATMs for large withdrawals. Once they identify a target, they follow them and break into their vehicles when parked—or worse, some victims have even been robbed at gunpoint.
These crimes are happening across Beaumont, Mid-County, and Port Arthur and are part of a growing trend across Texas. Law enforcement is working hard to stop them, but need the public to stay vigilant.
What You Can Do:
Don’t leave cash, bank bags, or valuables in your car—especially not in the center console or glove box.
Always remove firearms from your vehicle. Auto burglars are targeting guns!
Take laptops, cell phones, and other valuables with you to prevent becoming a target.
If you see suspicious people or vehicles hanging around bank parking lots, call police and report it.
If you think you’re being followed after a bank visit, call 911 and drive to a safe location.
LOCK YOUR CARS & REMOVE VALUABLES
Let’s work together to stop these criminals and keep our community safe. If you see something, say something.
