The Annual “Angel Tree” program returns for its 45th to the Orange area. The program aims to provide new clothing and toys to families in need during the holiday season.

“Many are living paycheck to paycheck in today’s economy, and we have the opportunity to come alongside those parents and make the holidays a little less stressful and provide Love Beyond Christmas morning,” said Captain Salgado of The Salvation Army in Orange County.

The Salvation Angel Trees can be found in local businesses in the Orange area. Community members and local businesses can adopt one of these paper angels. 

 Each Angel adopted will help a child or senior citizen who may not receive a Christmas gift this year. Adopted Angels are placed on Christmas trees to decorate them and represent every child or senior citizen that might receive a gift this Christmas.

Donations will be redistributed by the Salvation Army. Those seeking aid via donations can contact the Salvation Army of Orange by phone at 409-291-8400 or visit online.

Those who are not shopping in person this year can participate through Walmart’s “Registry for Good” program online. All items purchased via the online registry will be delivered to the local Salvation Army.

Donations are being accepted until Dec. 6. The Salvation Army is also currently accepting volunteers for the program. 

“If you’ve got some spare time over the holidays and would like to get involved at The Salvation Army, we’ve got an opportunity for you! Together, we can make the season brighter for people in need in our community,” said Captain Delgado.
