ORANGEFIELD — Orangefield’s class of 1990 kicked off their 35th class reunion Friday night at the Bobcats homecoming game for a two day journey down memory lane.

Following an evening of cheering a new generation of Bobcats to a homecoming victory the 1990 crew reconvened at the Orangefield Cormier Museum Saturday morning to continue their travels down memory lane. While joyfully reliving silly antics along with some slightly embarrassing moments with home movies and old high school annuals from their youth the group enjoyed delicious refreshments while touring a museum filled with Orangefield’s past along with a vast variety of vintage relics and artifacts.

Traveling from Arlington, Texas, former Bobcat Jeff Granger, who hasn’t really been back in 20 years was glad to see that in spite of a few added buildings and some minor upgrades the school and Orangefield itself was practically just the way he remembered it, including the town’s camaraderie.

“It’s great to see so much support the town still has for their school” Granger said. “You don’t usually see that kind of community support in big cities”.

The reunion continued Saturday evening at the home of former Bobcat Jay Wilson with karaoke and continued stories of the past and present before everyone said their farewells and made the journey back to their corners of the world.

When graduation is over, all the celebrations are done and kids say goodbye to friends, clicks and rivals they begin their solo journeys through life not fully realizing just how far the road might take them or everything they might be leaving behind but when months turn into years and years into decades sometimes it’s nice to revisit the past. Sometimes it’s nice to reconnect with old friends. Sometimes it’s nice to just go home.
