UPDATE: Former Orange County deputy indicted on child sex assault related charges

ORANGE COUNTY — Bond has been set for a former Orange County Sheriff’s deputy was indicted this week on child sex assault related charges.

An Orange County grand jury indicted Ken Bost, 53, on continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first degree felony, and indecency with a child, a second degree felony on Wednesday.

Bost was arrested on warrants Thursday and is in the Orange County jail. Bond is set at $250,000 for the continuous sexual abuse of a child charge and $150,000 for the indecency charge.

Bost served the OCSO for four years and prior to that he served as Rose City Marshal.

On July 1, the OCSO was made aware of an alleged criminal offense concerning then deputy Bost who was assigned to the patrol division a the time of the complaint.

The Orange County Criminal Investigations Division immediately began an investigation, subsequently contacting the Texas Ranger’s Beaumont Office, according to information from the sheriff’s office.

Once the investigation was complete, the findings were submitted to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

On the date that the complaint was made, Bost had turned in a resignation letter stating the he intended to give his two weeks notice and that he had found employment elsewhere. After initial statements were taken from the complainants, his resignation was made effective immediately.

“The Orange County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Texas Rangers and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance with this case,” according to information from the OCSO.
