ORANGEFIELD – With a big flurry provided by Asia Robinson in the fourth quarter, the Buna Lady Cougars claimed the outright District 22-3A title with a 40-35 road win over the Orangefield Lady Bobcats at Bobcat Gym Tuesday night.

The two teams were tied for first heading into Tuesday’s final regular season game and it was the Lady Cougars (11-3 in district) that came up with the big plays down the stretch behind Robinson’s play to turn back the second-place Lady Bobcats (26-13, 10-4).

Brooke Sanders had seven points and seven rebounds for the Lady Cougar to help aid Robinson’s effort. Robinson finished 9-of-10 from the free-throw line as well.

The Lady Bobcats led 8-5 after the first quarter and 18-14 at the half.

Buna finished with a 29-28 rebounding edge. The Lady Cougars had 17 turnovers while Orangefield had 15. Buna finished 19-of-27 from the free-throw line while Orangefield was just 4-of-9.
