Bobcats boys take own power meet

ORANGEFIELD – On Thursday February 6th the Orangefield Powerlifting team competed in the Orangefield Invitational Meet.

The Bobcats placed first as a Team in the Boy’s division. Individually, finishing first were Dylan Wells (855lbs) in the 132lb class, Austin Taylor (935lbs) in the 148lb class, Chase Broussard (980lbs) in the 165lb class, Grant Metts (1295lbs) in the 181lb class, Hunter Ashworth(1240lbs) in the 220lb class, Santos Garcia (1,515lbs) in the 242lb class, and Coby Coulter (1485lbs) in the 275lb class. Second-place finishers include Garrison Hughes in the 148lb class, Clayton Westbrook in the 165lb class, Cutler Hubbard in the 198lb class, Kyler Metts in the 242lb class, and Gabe Statum in the SHW division. Finishing in third were Cody LaBry and Dylan Whitman. Dylan Wells was named outstanding male lifter for the light platform.

In the Girl’s division, finishing first were Lacey Tackett (750lbs) in the 105lb class and Lyla Boudreaux (365lbs) in the 220lb class. Second-place finishers include Linsey Tackett in the 105lb class, Makayla Garcia in the 123lb class, Angel Wedgeworth in the 148lb class, Jaida Smith in the 198lb class and Grace Sullivan in the 259lb class. Hannah Sullivan placed third in the 259lb class.  Lacey Tackett was named outstanding female lifter on the light platform. The Bobcats and Lady Bobcats will next compete in the LCM Invitational Meet on Thursday February 13th.
