Shooting victim uncooperative with police

PRESS RELEASE ‑ On Saturday, March 2, 2019 at approximately 11:40 A.M. Officer J. Lockett of the Pinehurst Police Department responded to Golden Triangle Emergency Center located at 3107 Edgar Brown Drive in West Orange, Texas in reference to a shooting victim.
A 19 year-old black man arrived for treatment for what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the left foot which he claimed was a result of a self-inflicted accidental discharge.
The victim stated he had been traveling West bound on West Park near Camelot Drive with friends. The victim stated further he was attempting to take apart his friend’s handgun, possibly a 9mm semi-automatic, while in the vehicle when the firearm accidentally discharged striking him in his left foot.
The other occupants of the vehicle transported him to the Golden Triangle Emergency Center but left upon dropping him off. The victim refused to cooperate or offer additional details. The weapon was not recovered.
