A trip to the Terror of Maze turned tragic Friday night, when an elderly woman was hit by a SUV while escorting her grandchildren across the street.

The driver of the SUV hit Wanda Spoonmore, 71, of Beaumont, and continued down Highway 12 towards the 105 Area. Vidor Police did receive a call in reference to a reckless driver in the area right after the crash.
Carroll said, “ The vehicle should have heavy front end damage and any one with information is asked to call Vidor Police or Crime Stoppers at 409-833-Tips”.
Spoonmore was transported by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
