Robert “Bobby” James Abshire, Jr.

Robert “Bobby” James Abshire, Jr., 60, of Orange, Texas passed away on March 27, 2018 in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Damon Bickham. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on June 1, 1957, he was the son of Robert Abshire, Sr. and Frankie Ruth (Cooper) Abshire. Bobby owned Abshire Construction and worked as a carpenter, as well as for A-1 Fire and Safety. He was a graduate of Deweyville High School. Bobby enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, boating, and going to the movies. He loved to spend time with his family, joke around with them, and have after meal naps. He thoroughly enjoyed life and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frankie Abshire; grandson, Captain Gonzalez; uncle, Sanders (JR) Abshire; and aunt, Florence Boles. Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Busby Abshire; children, Jessica Thomas and husband Grant, of Huffman, Mikeal James Abshire and wife Jackie, of Orangefield, Jeremiah Gregory and wife Tiffany, of Orangefield, Rebecca Gregory, of Orange, Tiffany Gonzalez and husband Dustin, of Orangefield, and Bobby Joe Jeanise, of Spurger; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Lisa Johnson and husband Don, of Lumberton, Brenda Wofford and husband Billy, of Deweyville, and Tina Browning and husband Ray, of Deweyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
