Mrs. Sammie Lee Williams

The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Sammie Lee Williams, 86, of Orange will be Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. during a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Rites of Christian Entombment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery Mausoleums under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m.

She died Oct 4, 2017 at The Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center.

An Orange native, she was a Brownie Trooper Leader, a Red Cross Volunteer and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Therese Church for more than 30 years.

Also, she was affiliated with the Amicaes of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, assisted in operating the West Orange Stark High School Concession Stand for some 40 years, was a Family Care at Sparrow Funeral Home, and was a representative at State and National PTA Conventions.

Survivors include 1 son, Samuel Charles Blanchard of Atlanta, GA, 2 daughters, Deborah Blanchard-Hendreson and husband Lee, and Earnett Mitchell and husband Samuel, both of Orange, 1 brother, Charles Blanchard and wife Nell of Benbrook, TX, 2 sisters, Martha Levias and husband George of Orange and Leona Rathers of Burleson, TX, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
