Melba Maxine Simmons Smith Crew Klock

Melba Maxine Simmons Smith Crew Klock, 88, of Orange, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 6, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Maranatha Christian Center in Orange. Officiating the service will be Reverend Daniel Ray. Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Maranatha Christian Center in Orange.

Born in Bastrop, Louisiana, on March 14, 1931, she was the daughter of Scriv Simmons and Eulice Sylvia (Swift) Simmons. Melba worked as a cashier for Walmart in Orange. She was a member of Maranatha Christian Center. Melba loved her West Orange-Stark Mustangs, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, and Houston Astros. She enjoyed calling in her family and friends birthdays and anniversaries to KOGT. Melba loved the city of Orange and all of its history. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Scriv and Eulice Simmons; husbands, Donald Smith, Ellison Crew, Jr., and Charles Lionel Klock, Sr.; brothers, Reverend Bob Simmons and Reverend Donnell Simmons; and her granddaughter, Miracle Joy.

Melba is survived by her children, Donna Howland and husband Marty, Donnie Smith, Cindy Ray and husband Reverend Daniel, and Sonny Crew and wife Amy, all of Orange; grandchildren, Heather Smith, Danielle Husband, Amanda Wright, Benjamin Ray, Brooke Fontenot, Jeremy Howland, Bryce Crew, Kaitlan Crew Graham, Taryn Crew, and Kyson Crew; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy Chandler, Greg Eastin, Bryce Crew, Benjamin Ray, Jeremy Howland, and Zach Drouillard.
