James Michael “Mike” Schrieber, Sr.

 James Michael “Mike” Schrieber, Sr., 63, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 15, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Born in Orange, Texas, on January 15, 1954, Mike was the son of Lovelace and Bettie Schrieber. He owned Schrieber’s Video Rental on the circle in Orange. Mike was an avid sports fan, had a competitive nature, enjoyed playing softball and baseball, and even played baseball for Lamar University and Stark High School when he was younger. He loved music and enjoyed hosting family and friends at his house to play card games and board games. Mike was a fun loving man who everyone knew as “Pop”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike is survived by his children, Tara Allen and husband Thomas, of Fort Worth, James Michael Schrieber, Jr., of Bridge City, and Shanna Schrieber, of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Nathan and Spencer Allen; step-daughter, Jami Emerson and husband Adam and family, of Gilbert, Arizona; siblings, L.J. Schrieber, Jr. and wife Dee, of Hemphill and Sharon Stephenson, of Orange; and nieces and nephews, Brad and Katina Schrieber, Britni Stephenson, and Robin Fuller and husband Jack, and their families.
