Ivanora Kertz

Ivanora Kertz, 91, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019 in Sublimity, Oregon.  Iva, as she preferred to be called, was born to Albert and Bertha Vanzieleghem on January 10, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Iva and her two sisters, Juanita and Odessa (Dee), moved to Orange, Texas with their mother during World War II where Iva met her future husband, Fredrick Kertz, a World War II veteran.  Happily married for 63 years, Fred preceded Iva in April 2009. Her sons, Gary and Glen of Salem, Oregon survive her. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive her.

Fred and Iva lived in Orange for more than fifty years, where they grew and sold award-winning orchids. When Hurricane Rita destroyed their home in 2005, they relocated to El Paso to be with their son, Glen.

Iva’s ashes will be interred alongside her husband in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, Texas.
