Armor Lamar “Art” Hughes Sr

Armor Lamar “Art” Hughes Sr., 83, went to be with our Lord on June 14 2017 from his home in Bridge City, Tx.
He is survived by his wife of 58 yrs Evelyn (Fran) Hughes of Bridge City, his children Melanie Hughes Queen (Mike), Stephanie Hughes Jones (Randy), and Lamar Hughes (Pam), 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,  his nieces and nephews and extended family.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Delores O’Neal Stelly and brother Alton Hughes. Art was born in Dothan, Ala. Oct 3, 1933. He moved to San Antonio in 1952 after joining the air force. He was an Orange police officer before becoming the first criminal investigator in Orange county. Art was a member of Eagle Heights church. His greatest passion was tending his yard and gardening. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church building fund in Orange Tx and St Jude Children’s hospital in Memphis TN.
Art loved the Lord, his family and life. “I give praise to my Father, the One and only God and Savior. To You be the glory, majesty, power and authority,  through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forever more, unto all the ages of eternity”. Jude 25
