Edgar A. Hogg Jr., 74 of Newton, Texas died on Oct. 17, 2015 in Galveston, Texas at UTMB.  He was born on July 18, 1941 in Orange, Texas and had lived in Newton for many years.  He was retired from the City of Newton.

He is survived by his son, David Bell of Wilmington, NC, daughter, Kristie Downs of Newton, brother, Jim Hogg and wife, Judy of Henderson, Tx and grandchildren, Chase, Cody, Alesha, Jacob, Lucas and Noah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ruth Hogg.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial to follow at the Newton Cemetery.
