Three people have been transported to area hospitals following a head-on collision Monday morning.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has reported a head-on collision occurred at approximately 9 a.m., Monday, on FM 1006 in front of the DuPont plant on FM 1006 in Orange. Three people were seriously injured.
According to a press release, a white Ford truck was traveling north on FM 1006 when it reportedly crossed the center dividing line of the road and collided head-on with a black Chevrolet pickup. DPS officials have not determined the reason why the Ford truck crossed into the other lane at this time.
The impact of the collision was so severe it left the unidentified female driver of the Ford truck trapped, so she had to be extracted from the vehicle by emergency responders at the scene. She was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by medical helicopter with “serious injuries to her lower extremities.”
The Chevrolet truck was occupied by two people. Both were transported by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with undetermined injuries.
The roadway remained closed for nearly two hours as DPS and emergency responders cleared the scene. No other information is available at this time.
