Truett “T.S.” Hawley

Truett Hawley, 96, of Orange, passed away on June 21, 2015, at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00am, Thursday, June 25, 2015, at North Orange Baptist Church in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft and Reverend Scott McIntosh. A Private burial will follow.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm -8:00pm, Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Hazel, Kentucky, on March 12, 1919, Truett was the son of Reverend Adam Hawley and Shelly Smith Hawley. He worked as a foreman at DuPont for 35 years. Truett was a navy veteran of six and half years who served in WWII. He was stationed in Newfoundland and flew missions over the North Atlantic, one of which was responsible for the sinking of the first German submarine by the United States Navy. He was a member of North Orange Baptist Church for the past 60 years where he served as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a choir member.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Opal White Hawley; his brother, Houston Hawley, of Murray, Kentucky; his children, Janis McCrary and husband Jim, of Kingwood, Texas, and Rebecca Damiano and husband Rick, of Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren, Jennifer McCrary, Jessica Prosser and husband Chuck, Jana McCrary, Jimmy McCrary and wife Amy, Ryan Damiano and wife Kandi, and Joseph Damiano and wife Emily; his great-grandchildren, Ember Prosser, Eliza McCrary, Jordan Prosser, Jed McCrary, Reid Damiano, and Eli Damiano; and his brother-in-law, A.H. White and wife Nancy.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Damiano, Joey Damiano, Jimmy McCrary, Chuck Prosser, Rick Damiano, and Mike Dixon. Honorary pallbearers are Jim McCrary, Alan Courmier, and the Deacons of North Orange Baptist Church.
