San Diego, CA – Louisiana based US Fire Pump Company, the premier emergency response team in the world has been contracted for firefighting services; in response to a large scale fire aboard the United States Navy Vessel USS Bonhomme Richard. The USS Bonhomme Richard is docked in San Diego, CA and caught fire on July 12, 2020. Crews have been actively working the fire aboard with extinguishment operations from the air as well as amphibious firefighting equipment. To aid in the efforts US Fire Pump has sent 12 Industrial Firefighting Specialists to San Diego, CA. In addition, US Fire Pump’s specialized equipment, submersible pumps, high velocity pumps and more than 10,000 feet of hose has been dispatched to supplement operations. Chris Ferrara, President/CEO states, “With our investment in training of our personnel and building response equipment we are always ready to assist when the call is made. We have successfully responded to the largest incidents in our country’s history over the last several years. From large terminal fires, petrochemical plant fires and ship fires and rescues, our team has been able to experience a wide array of emergency responses. We are excited to be chosen to assist the US Navy and the Fire Departments in their time of need and who have been battling the blaze since yesterday”.
