Lady Raiders get past Lady Mustangs in 3

WEST ORANGE – The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs almost snagged a game against the District 22-4A champion Lumberton Lady Raiders Tuesday night but they fell short in taking Game Three.
The Lady Raiders (25-11, 11-0) remained undefeated in 22-4A play as they downed the Lady Mustangs 25-8, 25-18, 25-21 at Mustang Gym.
The Lady Mustangs (1-10 in district) found their groove in Game Three, leading most of the way. They led 21-17 but the Lady Raiders ran off with the match by scoring the last eight points of the Game.
The Lady Raiders finished with 44 kills while WO-S had 15.
Marlandria Hebert led the Lady Mustangs with five kills. Gabby Tims and Jamyria Garrett had three kills apiece while Pris Overstreet had two.
Brynn Baker had a match-high 13 kills for the Lady Raiders. Kyndall Wilke had seven kills while Caitlin Hood had five and Tayah Bowell four.
The Lady Raiders scored 44 points off their service game while the Lady Mustangs netted 18.
Ivy Le led Lumberton with 13 service points and an ace. Hood contributed 12 points and three aces. Jade Moore had nine points and two aces.
Tims and Overstreet each had four points and two aces for the Lady Mustangs. Trinity Garrett had four points and Libni Hermosillo had three.
The Lady Mustangs will close out their season on the road Friday against Orange County rival Bridge City.
