The Little Cypress-Mauriceville volleyball team has gotten off to a superb start of the season after they wrapped up the Woodville Tournament by nabbing the third-place trophy.

Lady Bears Chelsea Perry and Trinity Williams both notched All-Tournament as LC-M went 8-1 in the tourney, which featured 2-out-of-3 matches.

Wins for the Lady Bears included Huntington (25-17, 25-18), Liberty (25-14, 25-11), Spurger (25-20, 25-14), Beaumont Kelly (25-16, 25-13), Evadale (25-13, 25-18), Hamshire-Fannett (25-16, 26-24), Liberty (25-18, 23-25, 25-20) and Deweyville (25-19, 14-25, 25-19).

The lone loss came at the hands of the host Woodville Lady Eagles 26-24, 24-26, 25-15.

The Lady Bears play host to Port Arthur Memorial Tuesday and will visit the Aldine Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Also on Tuesday, Bridge City will welcome Beaumont Kelly, Orangefield will welcome in Vidor and West Orange-Stark will visit Deweyville.

Both Orangefield and WO-S will be participating at the Orangefield Lady Bobcat Tournament Thursday through Saturday.

On Friday, Bridge City visits Deweyville and WO-S travels to Newton.
