PINEHURST — After working for 28 years in water and wastewater, Bryan Green is ready to enjoy some rest and relaxation.

Green, water and waste waster chief operator with the city of Pinehurst, is undecided on his future plans but wants to spend some time relaxing.

“I am not going to miss the morning alarm clock,” Green said with a laugh.

Green has worked for the cities of Port Arthur, Bridge City, Orange before joining Pinehurst 17 years ago.

“I have worked with different people over the years,” Green said. “There is a great bunch here [Pinehurst].”

Green said he began considering retirement in January.

“It’s just time,” Green said.

Mayor Pro Tem Dan Mohan said he rode with Green once and learned a great deal about Green’s music.

“Who knows, he may go on tour now,” Mohan said.

Mayor Pete Runnels said he would miss Green.

“I think the world of you,” Runnels said.

City Administrator Robbie Hood also spoke of his appreciation for Green as an employee.

“I appreciate you working through the tough times to get the water back online,” Hood said.
