OES students, Brylie Johnson, and Avery Seals in Mrs. Wolfford’s 3rd Grade Reading class place weights on the bridge they created during this week’s STEM Bridge Challenge. After researching bridges, students worked in pairs with each pair having 50 Popsicle sticks to engineer the strongest bridge. Students recorded their data throughout the week. The STEM Challenge was a culminating activity following their reading story, “Pop’s Bridge.” Students studied Historical Fiction, story elements, compare and contrast understanding characters, and theme. Students also enjoyed learning about our very own historic bridge, the Rainbow Bridge
