Three truck will collect debris for through out the county for Wednesday and Thursday before returning to a two truck team.
Interim Emergency Management Coordinator Leon George said the issue with acquiring more trucks is money.
“These trucks are use to making thousands a day not $500 a day,” George said.
“They have to make six loads a day to make a profit,” Commissioner John Gothia said. “The problem is they have one street here, then drive across town to the next street and then across town again for the third street.”
The trucks are in Pinehurst and West Orange at this time collecting storm debris. The county is continuing collection through the county in every city except for the city of Orange.
George encouraged residents to use the Debris Hotline 409-745-9809 so collections can continue.
“People are calling,” George said. “The phone is getting 20 plus calls a day.”
Michelle Tubberville reminded the court of the Tri-County Disaster Rebuild SETX Pep Rally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center in FM 1442 in Orange.
The ‘pep rally’ will be an educational meeting to discuss the different Orange County Advisory Committees and for those interested in how they can get involved in rebuilding Orange County.
