LITTLE CYPRESS – The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears evened their mark to 1-1 on the season as they defeated the Vidor Pirates 58-42 at the Bear Cave Saturday.

Katon Brown sparked the Bears, scoring 19 points while snagging seven rebounds.

Braden Bridges chimed in with 12 points for the Bears.

Gavin Jarrell led the Pirates with 14 points.

The Bears led 25-18 at the half and stretched it to 41-26 at the end of the third quarter with a 16-8 run.

The Bears will visit Nederland Monday at 6 p.m.
