Summer Reading

The Vidor Public Library held the Summer Reading Program on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. The Guests from the Stark Museum of Art were Kaycee Spears and Stacy Russell. The Stark Museum houses one of the nation’s most significant collections of American Western art and is located in downtown historic Orange, Texas. Kaycee talked to the audience about Texas as she read “The Armadillo from Amarillo” by Lynne Cherry. Sasparillo the armadillo travels from his home in San Antonio north through the canyons and prairies of Texas. For the craft, the children made landscapes using pastel chalk and practiced using different textures.
