The Celebration of Life for Ms. Elma Wheeler Brown, 94, of Orange, will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul C.M.E. Church.

Rites of Christian Burial will follow in Hollywood Community Cemetery under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the church.

She died Friday, May 5, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

An Orange native and 1941 graduate of Moton High School, she was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant.

A member of Gate City Court of Calanthe, she was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

At St. Paul C.M.E. Church she was a member of the Missionary Society, worked in the Sunday School and was a Stewardess.

Survivors include her children, William Wheeler of Monterey Park, CA, Robert Wheeler of San Antonio, TX, Kevin Wheeler (Linda) of Missouri City, TX, and LaNita Wheeler Brown (James) of Orange, her sister, Lillie Moore, also of Orange, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Orange Public Library or Texas College of Tyler, TX.
