SAN ANTONIO – It will be “Showtime” for sure come Monday morning when the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Band will compete in the Class 4A State Marching Contest at the Alamodome.
The Bear Band growled their way to the State Championships after a magnificent performance at Regionals at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches last weekend.
LC-M will be one of among 24 bands competing for top honors Monday.
LC-M will warmup at 9:20 a.m. Monday and will hit the Alamodome turf at 10:30 a.m.
The band did not have the opportunity to practice in a facility like an indoor stadium where the sound reverberates and sounds different from the venues the students have played in weekly.
Ford Park in Beaumont came through for the band in Green and Gold as it offered their facility up for the band Friday morning so the students could acclimate themselves of playing and marching with the sound bouncing back at them.
The band played at halftime Friday night in Navasota and then will head to the State Contest.
Bands from across the state will compete for top honors at the 2016 UIL State Marching Band Championships to be held Monday through Wednesday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
