David W. and Cecilia A. Smith are raising funds through a go fund me account to develop a resort on property in the Philippines.
In 2014, the couple purchased beachfront property not far from where Cecilia grew up.
The Smith’s goal is to develop a resort on the property so they can move to the island and spread the gospel.
“We would also like to be able to improve on the lives of all who live there by helping the economic situation for all in the area by bringing in tourism,” David wrote on the go fund me account.
Funds raised will be used to develop the property and establish the infrastructure on the two-plus acres.
Smith plans to build typhoon resistant monolithic domes using 4000 psi concrete.
The fundraiser is to raise money so construction can begin as soon as possible. The goal is to be fully operational in about a year’s time. Ultimate goal is to move to the Philippines full time in 2021.
