My name is Ryan Peabody, and I am announcing my candidacy for Commissioner of Precinct 1 because Orange County needs a public servant ready to both work with existing leaders and bring new fresh ideas to the county. I am the only candidate in the race who has already done this.

As a conservative Republican, I believe in a smartly run, efficient local government that is a good steward of taxpayer money. Orange County is at a crossroads of growth. Our community will either grow and prosper or will get stuck in a rut. We need more bold leaders on the Court and a strategic plan for growth. I will be that leader.

Orange County is facing millions of dollars in growing future expenses. The path we are on is unsustainable. The taxpayers deserve a presence on the Court that will always put their interests first for the betterment of the entire community. As Commissioner, I will always apply consistent conservative principals and work honestly and openly.

As the current Orange County Emergency Management Coordinator I have improved the efficiency of my department. I have created a more effective office by taking a logical, systematic approach to running county affairs. My office of Emergency Management has been run like a business by making a balanced budget a priority and avoiding waste. I was able to create a strategic vision that identified our values, goals, objectives, hurdles and measures of success. As Commissioner I will apply this same approach.

As a candidate for Commissioner of Precinct 1, I would say this: Let’s take a fresh look at the County. Let’s move forward and make Orange County a shining example in Southeast Texas of what a thriving community can be. I have worked with many of the talented leaders in the community and together we can build an Orange County for the future.
