Cookies With Santa delights children at Leslie’s Place

MAURICEVILLE — Leslie’s Place in Mauriceville recently held their first Cookies with Santa event to the delight of some happy children.
Leslie McIntosh-Rider, owner of Leslie’s Place, said the Mauriceville location is her newest store having opened it in March.
“This was the first time to have it (Cookies with Santa) there,” McIntosh-Rider said. “This was a chance for us — we are part of the community and they support us, to give back.”
Children received gift bags which were made the night before. McIntosh-Rider said she wasn’t sure how many to make. Usually she makes about 60 for the event in Bridge City. She doubled the number for the Mauriceville location and they still ran out.
Leslie’s Place is located at 11261 Texas 12, Mauriceville and 2198 Texas Ave., in Bridge City.
