Bridge City Athlete Named AVCA Volleyball All-American at Angelo State University

SAN ANGELO—  Five players on the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team, including Demi Carter of Bridge City, have earned 2024 All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Highlighting the awards is middle blocker Demi Carter of Bridge City being named the AVCA National Freshman of the Year. The marketing major also earned All-America honorable mention after previously being named to the Lone Star Conference All-Freshman Team and earning All-South Central Region honors.

Graduate MBA student Adeline Ortman of Rhome was named to the All-America first team. She was previously named the LSC Setter of the Year and LSC Academic Player of the Year, and she also earned all-region honors.

Sophomore outside hitter Madi Parrish of Saginaw, a business major, was named to the All-America second team. She previously earned All-LSC and all-region honors and was the MVP of the LSC Tournament.

Outside hitter Evelyn Torres of Fort Worth, a graduate student in security studies, was named to the All-America third team. She previously earned All-LSC and all-region honors.

Senior exercise science major Caleigh Enax of Haslet earned All-America honorable mention. She was previously named the LSC Libero of the Year and earned all-region honors.

The Belles have advanced to the national semifinals for the first time in team history.
