BRIDGE CITY — Police in Bridge City are investigating the shooting of a 21-year-old woman.

At approximately 1 p.m. Friday, Bridge City officers responded to the 300 block of Austin in reference to a gunshot victim.

When they arrived they found the female with a single gunshot wound. She was transported by life flight to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont and is being treated for her injuries, according to a news release from Bridge City Police Department.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation
