The 30th Annual Community Trash-Off brought volunteers of all ages to clean trash from neighborhoods last week.

Volunteers gathered March 1 at the Riverside Pavilion before going out to clean up. Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center hosted the event which was sponsored by Dow Sabine River Operations.

Community Trash-off began in 1995 with a small group of citizens coming together to clean up the Adams Bayou. This annual event became an official program of the Stark Foundation in 1995 when Shangri La was being built.  Since then the event continued for 30 years and expanded to clean Sabine River along with the streets of Orange, Pinehurst and West Orange.
