Bridge City crash with 2 semi-trucks leads to death

BRIDGE CITY — A Louisiana man is dead and a Port Arthur man injured following a crash with two semi-trailers Tuesday.

 

At approximately 5:14 a.m. the Bridge City Police Department received a 911 call about a two vehicle crash in the 500 block of Texas Avenue.

When Officers arrived on scene, they located two semi-trucks with trailers in the middle lane facing northbound.

The driver of the 2013 Peterbilt semi-truck was identified as Raymond

McCain III, 30, of Port Arthur. McCain was transported to St. Elizabeth emergency room for non-life-threatening injuries, according to information from BCPD.

The driver of the 2016 Freightliner semi-truck was identified Keith

Kuffler, 48, of Iota, Louisiana. Kuffler was transported to St. Elizabeth emergency room for life threatening injuries. Kuffler later succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, it was determined the driver of the 2016 Freightliner semi-truck failed to control speed and crashed into the trailer that was being pulled by the 2013 Peterbilt semi-truck.

This investigation is ongoing.
