Orange County election races are set as election season begins

City of Orange
Three seats are up for election in the City of Orange. Brad Childs of District 2 is running unopposed. The Seat for District 4 will be between incumbent Mary McKenna and challenger Alan Mesecher. Seat at large is challenged by George Mortimer against incumbent Reginald Broussard.
Bridge City
Three seats are up for election in Bridge City. Mayor David Ruthledge has filed for another term along with Aaron Roccaforte, Place 1, Bryant Champagne, Place 3. Terri Gauthier, Place 5, could not run for re-election after being termed out and that seat will have a race between Chris Bouley and Lucy Fields.
Pinehurst
Three seats are up for election for the City of Pinehurst. They include J. Michael Shahan, Mayor Pro-Tem, Joey Vance, Councilman and Troy Pierce, Councilman. All three have filed and are running unopposed meaning there will be no election.
Vidor
Vidor is the city with the most candidates running for mayor this year with 6 candidates. Current Mayor Misty Songe Hart is being challenged by Trevor Daughtry, Ashley Hall, Kenneth Luce, Nicole McGowan and Shawn Volkmann. The seat for Ward 1 will be between Kelly Carder and Jerrod Nash. Ward 4 has Jessica Barker is running unopposed and the seat for Ward 6 will be between Kathryn Weldon and Deborah Gatlin.
Bridge City ISD, Little Cypress-Mauriceville ISD and West Orange-Cove ISD
All elections for these ISD positions will be running unopposed and elections will likely be canceled.
Important Dates
The last day to register to vote in the May 3 election is April 3.
Early Voting will commence April 22.
Election Day is May 3.
